Accolades

 Smt.Shantha Balasubramanian is a senior vocal and violin artiste with more than 40 dedicated years in the field of music and dance. After her training in her schooling years from her reputed guru and aunt from Smt Savithri Satyamurthy for more than 20 years in Mumbai, she pursued her advanced training under Late Shri. N. Purushothaman at the Darpana Academy of music and fine arts, Ahmedabad.

She has travelled and performed vocal and violin recitals across the world. She had composed the music for the Dance ballet “Jesus of Nazareth” under the banner of Nateschwara Academy, Baden, Switzerland and given several performances across Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Nordic countries. She has also given vocal concert performances at the Sydney Music Circle, Australia, at Dubai and in the USA.

​She has now joined hands with her friend, Smt Vijayalakshmi Ramanujam and is an integral part of Nipuna Arts Academy, Mumbai, a music academy that trains and encourages students in Carnatic music and dance. As part of Nipuna, they have conceptualized a unique concert with 20-25 artistes performing together on Violin, Veena, flute with percussion accompaniment on Mridangam, Ghatam and Kanjira.
